How To Grow Flowers

Editorial policy

How How To Grow Flowers decides what to publish, how guides are reviewed, how images are labelled and where commercial interests stop.

Our standard

Guides answer the question first, then give the detail. We write for the climate you have, not the one the plant would like, and we say plainly when a flower is a long shot outdoors. Timing is given as months, temperatures and zones, not vague seasons, and we separate what is known from what growers report.

Pen name

Articles are published under the editorial pen name Iris Bell. The name is disclosed on the about page and in the structured data of every page. We do not give it credentials, employers or experience it does not have.

Sources

Claims about hardiness, bloom time, light, soil, pruning and pests come from university extension services, government plant-hardiness data, botanic gardens, nursery information and grower reports. Each guide lists its sources at the bottom.

Images

Photos carry a visible credit. Where no accurate free photo exists we use an AI-generated image, checked for botanical accuracy before use and listed on our image credits page.

Commercial relationships

Nobody pays to change a recommendation. If we ever publish sponsored content, it will be clearly labelled as sponsored.

Updates and errors

Guides show a last-updated date. If we get something wrong, we fix it and say so: see corrections.
